We checked ratings of many nonprofits by rating organizations such as Guide Star, Charity Navigator, and Charity Watch to compile a list of charities. We spent ample time and effort in studying and analyzing their websites and annual reports. Of our seven charities, two are Platinum star, two Gold star, one Bronze by Guidestar.org.  Three of them are top rated by both.  Please note that getting a Gold Star on guidestar.org or 4 stars on Charity Navigator is not an easy achievement.

If our charities are unfamiliar to you, it's because their requests do not reach your mailbox.  They rarely engage in mass mailings, but raise their revenue from fundraisers, grants, and other means.
